A simpler Lathestone

One product, one studio, and fewer words. Why the site looks different, and what Lathestone is for now.

Written by Mike PuckettFounder, Lathestone

The old version of this site tried to be several things at once. This one is simpler, because Lathestone is.

What Lathestone is

Lathestone is a small, values-first software studio in Swansea. It does two things.

It looks after its own product. Right now that's Clan Path, a private family adventure journal that opens to its first families in January 2027. Most of my time goes there. Vista, a tool for hotels, is on the bench and will follow when it's ready.

It builds for other people. A few projects a year: websites, apps and tools for small businesses and organisations, fixes for workflows that eat the week, and help using AI carefully. The same standards apply as they do to Clan Path.

The standards

Private by default. No dark patterns. Whole-number prices. Yours to keep. Accessible from the start. They're written on the About page, and they're the test for everything here, including what I say yes to.

What's next

In January 2027, Lathestone becomes a limited company and Clan Path gets its own community interest company, owned by Lathestone, with at least half its profit going to charity. I've written about why that matters.

If any of that is useful to you, say hello.
